The Fried-Gal Colloquium on Transitional Justice
The Fried-Gal Colloquium on Transitional Justice is chaired by Prof. Ruti Teitel, Visiting Professor of Law at Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Ernst C. Stiefel Professor of Comparative Law, New York Law School. She is also Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics. Her recent book is Globalizing Transitional Justice, (Oxford University Press). Her path-breaking book, Transitional Justice (Oxford University Press, 2000), examines the 20th century transitions to democracy and explores the recurring question of how new regimes should respond to past repression, contending that the law can play a profound role in periods of radical change in advancing a new sense of legitimacy.
