Who We Are:
As a small family foundation, we provide assistance for educational projects that embody the values of the late Andreas (Bandi) and Susanne (Zsuszi) Gal: a thirst for learning, innovation, dignity and tolerance for all people. Bandi and Zsuszi were survivors who succeeded against all odds by cherishing their Jewish heritage and family values, as well as celebrating the gift of freedom, pluralism and democracy America presented. They understood that this gift must never be taken for granted.
Programs we support:
Fried-Gal Transitional Justice Initiative at Hebrew University, Faculty of Law

The Gal Foundation's Fried-Gal Transitional Justice Initiative helped develop and is a significant supporter of the Transitional Justice Program at Hebrew University Faculty of Law - TJ@HU. It pioneered academic teaching and research, partnering with clinics, practitioners, community outreach and international researchers.

Susanne was a leading textile designer and donated a large part of her fabric collection to Shenkar's Rose Textile & Fashion Archives.
The Gal Foundation recently funded the renovation of the Susanne Gal Conference Room.

Anti-Defamation League

The Gal Foundation is a long time supporter of ADL's fight against anti-Semitism, racial equality, and LGBT rights. We help fund ADL's flagship program, A World of Difference (AWOD) in Israel, offering anti-bias and diversity training for children and teens. AWOD activities are offered in arabic and hebrew in neighboring towns of Carmiel and Deir al-Asad in Northern Israel. A similar program was piloted in Jerusalem.

We have supported the visits of US law enforcement executives with their Israeli and Palestinian counterparts.
